Academy possesses world class infrastructure required for training adult professionals, on campus accommodation facilities for trainees and faculty, an auditorium with 406 sitting capacity, classrooms, indoor and outdoor sports, games, audiovideo equipment for projecting films etc. during the seminar, workshops, etc.
Initially created to meet the training needs of 1100 courts of judicial magistrates from the state of Maharashtra, 591 assistant public prosecutors, 90 additional public prosecutors, 35 assistant directors of public prosecution department from the state of Maharashtra, 225 government pleaders at high court and its benches, 225 panel advocates of CBI and 100 panel advocates at department of taxation from the state of Maharashtra, the Academy is fulfilling training needs of judicial officers and prosecutors of neighbouring states like Goa as well.

Auditorium - Ambience Ahoy
Built in descending hilly area, at an altitude of 400 feet above sea level, the land for the Academy admeasuring 5 hectares at Uttan, Bhayander West, District Thane was sanctioned by the Government of Maharashtra. It is situated in the lap of nature and presents panoramic view of a serene lake and lush green hills having salubrious atmosphere gradually merging into the Arabian Sea. It is at about 25 km away from the Airport.
Maharashtra Judicial Academy comprises of an Administrative Building, a Guest House-cum-Hostel, a Club House with recreational facilities like gymnasium, yoga, meditation rooms, swimming pool, badminton, billiards and table tennis, Residential Quarters for officers and staff, VIP Suites for dignitaries, and the Health Centre.
The total area of the Administrative Block Building is of 10940 sq. mts. On the canteen floor (B-1), there are 6 rooms. On the first floor (G), Auditorium with 406 sitting capacity and 11 rooms for guests, artists, administration purposes are established. On the first, second and third floors there are 17, 15, and 21 rooms respectively. Apart from it there are 28 urinals and 55 wash basins for trainees. Expensive Italian marble is used for Auditorium lobby and for the main entrance lobby. The air-conditioning system is provided in all the rooms, auditorium, halls, cafeteria, library and even offices in the building to comfort trainees, faculties and visitors. Car parking for vehicles and lifts to commute at different floors is another feature of this block.

The library is well-furnished with law books and other readings on general and special subjects, reference books, periodicals, national and regional magazines, CD's, newspapers, journals with sufficient number of copies. A number of on-line legal database resources both Indian and foreign are available for reading by trainee judges. The books are issued to the trainee judges for reading at the place of their residence. The library also has photocopy and print out facilities so that trainees can take material with them.
Administrative building also houses computer lab. The main purpose of this lab is to provide computer usage training to judges. More than 40 desktop computers are made available so that 40 trainee judges are trained at one go on how to use the IT facilities for judicial work. All computers are run on open source software LINUX and all are provided internet facilities. Academy also has 50 latest Laptops which run on Linux Operating System, laptops which are being provided to the trainee judges for the classroom training.

Trainees judges belonging to induction batch are to mandatorily take courses designed for them by the course director after assessing their level of knowledge in IT related concepts.
The lab also has laptop facility for providing training on using laptop to second level induction batch judges so that these judges are able to use the laptops provided to them by the government in judicial work and reduce dependency on staff and stenographers for taking notes and dictation.

The Administrative Block Building houses International Mediation Conference Room, Conference Room, Meeting room which all provide a convenient, professional and well equipped facilities to hold meetings, conferences, board meetings, and any short training course. All these rooms are air conditioned, Wi-Fi enabled and equipped to a high standard, with white boards and, in larger spaces, plasma screens or back projection. These are also offered to outsiders and they can be booked by the hour for a price that includes free use of our Wi-Fi enabled communal areas. Catering and secretarial support is also provided at competitive rates.
The Administrative Block Building has very significant entrance. It welcomes everyone with modified statute of Lady Justice Themis, the Roman goddess of Justice, who was armed with sword and scales. In the modification done to Lady Justice Themis, sword is replaced by book signifying the objective of the Academy to contribute to the justice by arming with knowledge inputs.

The Administrative Block Building provides in-house cafeteria facility to provide food for employees, officers, visitors, trainees and faculties. The catering is done by agency selected by competitive bidding and it provides quality food at affordable rates in a homely atmosphere.
It may be mentioned that the faculty and staff working in the Academy apart from trainee judges and visitors also rely on cafeteria as they do not get time to manage their own cooking due to continuous trainings in the Academy.

Guest House

The Guest House cum Hostel consisting of 81 suites of double occupancy and 7 suites for guest faculties is fully functional since May 2010. All rooms are with attached toilets cum bathrooms. It also provides for recreational facilities like television room, indoor games like table tennis and carom-boards, chess boards, long walk facilities in the campus having garden of about 10,000 sq. mts.
The Administrative Block Building provides for the Moot Court Room with dais for judges, chairs for litigants and advocates for conducting mock trials. These moot court rooms are used for doing simulation and role play exercises.
