Introduction

The foundation stone of the Academy was laid on 20th December, 2007 by the Hon’ble Shri Justice K. G. Balakrishnan, Former Chief Justice of India in the presence of the Hon’ble Shri Justice Swatanter Kumar, Former Chief Justice of the Bombay High Court and other dignitaries. The Administrative Block of the Academy was constructed in a record time of less than one year, thanks to the persuasion and perseverance of the Hon’ble Shri Justice Swatanter Kumar, Former Chief Justice of the Bombay High Court.

The Academy was inaugurated on 27th June, 2009 at the auspicious hands of Her Excellency Hon’ble Smt. Pratibhatai Patil, Former President of India and in the august presences of Hon’ble Shri Justice K. G. Balkrishnan, Former Chief Justice of India and other Hon’ble Judges of the Supreme Court of India, His Excellency Shri S. C. Jamir, Former Governor of Maharashtra, Hon’ble Shri Ashok Chavan, Former Chief Minister of the State of Maharashtra.
